2016 Mazda 6 GT Review, Specs

Here is a brief look at the 2016 Mazda 6 GT Specs, Price, and Interior. The first thing that strikes you about the 2016 Mazda 6 GT is that it is a car that delivers fuel economy that is as good if not better than what you would get from a hybrid. The nice thing is that it achieves this without your needing to be worried about battery weight and other complications. The only thing that we did not like about the Mazda 6 GT was that its styling prevents you from getting a nice rear view, though this does not matter quite so much because of the excellent blind spot monitoring. However, it does excel, as it is a production car that makes use of a capacitor to store electricity without draining the battery.

The new Mazda 6 GT also makes use of a proprietary Skyactiv technology, which basically is a suite of various engineering solutions that help to improve the fuel efficiency of the vehicle without needing to rely on hybrid and/or electric technologies. Although most modern carmakers are going down the electrification route, Mazda is the lone player that is betting on the internal combustion engine. Mazda also lead the way with rotary engines and it succeeded where Mercedes Benz and GM failed.

On the inside, the controls and the gauges are grouped very tightly in front of the driver. The standard equipment is also very impressive and includes push start-stop button and Bluetooth audio profile. There is also a nice power moon roof and blind spot monitoring as mentioned more than makes up for the rather limited rear view. Other features include LED fog lights and wipers that automatically switch on as soon as they sense the presence of rain. A nice Bose audio system is another impressive feature of the interiors as too is leather upholstery and dual zone automatic climate control.

2016 Mazda 6 GT – Engine Options

The Skyactiv technology allows the carmaker to use non-turbo petrol engines and it also improves the gas ignition. Under the hood, a nice 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that is designed to produce 184 horsepower and 185 pound feet of twisting force powers the new Mazda 6 GT. This engine can be coupled with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. Surprisingly, this new offering from Mazda produces as much power as other midsize sedans. Overall, the Mazda 6 GT produces good mileage and it also delivers excellent performance. You can expect it to deliver 9.4 liters per 100 kilometers in the city and 6.4 liters per 100 kilometers on the highway fuel economy.

That’s not all, because besides good mileage as well as good performance the Mazda 6 GT also looks great on the outside and inside. The design of the exteriors is based on the Shinari concept. This ensures that the vehicle looks very like a long vehicle with a flowing hood and pronounced front fenders.
