I am currently leasing a cx5 2015. My lease will expire April 2017, I am curious what changes will have been made to the 2017 model if they will be significant enough for me to lease another cx5. Although I do like my current model I’m hoping the 2017 model will have a few changes such as upgraded interior, plush seating, illumination on the locks, homelink system and window buttons. It would also be nice to have a power passenger seat. I do hope some of the changes have been made since I do enjoy driving this vehicle. Can you please tell me the approximate release date of the cx5 2017 model and the difference between the 2015 and 2017 model? Thank you for you time and help.
    Thank you for your time.

I have a 2015 CX-5 Touring Model. My wife and I both drive this vehicle.Any plans to add a memory seat feature?

    • admin says:

Unfortunately we don’t have such information so far.

    • Raymond Berube says:

I have the same problem with my 2014 GT model. Apparently the 2016.5 model has a memory for the driver’s seat, mine is on order. Hope that answered your question.

  4. Allen James says:

I have a 2014 CX5. Will Mazda offer a sport version with the same turbocharged 2.5L engine as is reported panned for the CX9? We love this car but would appreciate more acceleration when passing and would like a bit more roll stiffness when cornering.

    • admin says:

We still do not have such information, but we would like it to get turbocharged engine to stay competitive woth Ford Escape and Kia Sportage.

  5. Josh says:

Can someone please let Mazda know that reclining 2nd row is a MUST,,, when you have small kids,, all the others manufactures have it standard,,, Hinds, Toyota,, Hyundai,, etc, etc.

If the can do tha I’ll stay with Mazda,,, since I have always had Mazda’s but this SUV does not have reclining 2nd row,, I might go with another make.

    Thanks.

  6. Bobzda says:

Maybe the 2017 will actually have a water temp gauge.

  7. michael kelen says:

i am ready to purchase a cx5. i can wait until december. will the 2017 cx5 be signficantly difference in engine options, exterior design, and interior options. i bought my first mazda in 1974 the rx4 rotary engine i now have an mx5 for summer. i do not want to buy a 2016 if there will be significant changes for the 2017 model

please reply in confidence directly to my email

  8. carol says:

Might the 2017 CX-5 come with a power lift gate? a key feature on other SUV’s – 2016.5 is still manual.

  9. Laurel says:

The 2016 CX5 is a beauty. But Mazda can really hit a home run if they upped the luxury and features: power liftgate, thicker & plusher leather seats, more power or a turbo option, thick leather steering wheel, and a premium soft material inside instead of the hard cheap looking black plastic over the dash. In other words, Mazda has a winner w the style of this SUV – they need more luxury features, material, and quality – more like Lexus and Cadillac do – and they will have a HUGE winner in the CX5.

When will cx5 have a diesel engine?

    • admin says:

Actually CX-5 comes with with a 2.2 liter turbocharged diesel engine SH-VPTS with either 150hp or 175hp, but it isn’t available yet on the US market. We do not know why, but we have a hope that soon they will offer Skyactiv-D diesel engine on the US market.
This is one of the best diesel engines in the world. With fuel economy of 26 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway Mazda CX5 diesel has best mileage that any other SUV in this class.

  11. Michael says:

We purchased the top of the line Mazda CX5 Akera in 2015 because of the great feedback in the media however at $53,000 on road it came with far less equipment than we envisaged for a car at this price. No automatic tailgate. No airconditioning to the rear seats & cargo bay where our dogs travel. Other refinements we would have liked for a SUV at this price was, supportive seats, a full sized spare wheel & a lot more Zoom Zoom when overtaking. Will look to update when the all new model arrives in 2019 however will have to have a lot more bang for our $Buck

im excited to own a mazda cx5 model 2017, when are you going to launch this car in the philippines?

  13. Linda Shantz says:

I have driven Mazdas for 14 years now.
My question is simple, when will you bring out some nice light collours? Mine have been silver with black/grey interiors. Tired of these, don’t like black, white, grey, bright blue or red exteriors although this last one is quite attractive. I’m anxiously waiting for tan, cream or taupe
interior and how about light moss green metallic or airy, sky blue exterior? Please something refreshingly different!
