2018 Mazda 3 – Powertrain and Gearbox

The 2018 Mazda 3 has a base 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, which was formally offered exclusively on Sport and Touring models. This time, this engine unit becomes exclusive to the base Sports package. The Touring is slated to adopt a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with the capacity of 184 horsepower and 185 pound-feet of torque.

The 2.0-liter 4-cylinder unit produces 155 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque. Mazda has confirmed the availability of a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard on both trims. On the contrary, a nicely-sorted 6-speed automatic becomes an option.

Production and Cost of the 2018 Mazda 3

It is reported that the 2018 Mazda 3 will hit the dealerships this month. So, we expect to see it on public roads by December. The entry-level model starts at $18,000.
